The Thermal Recognition Helmet Cover utilises the CI Defence low emissivity technology to produce a highly effective combat Identification aid.

The cover is designed to fit snugly and securely over the hemet and comprises a lightweight fabric with panels of CI low emissivity material, Thermal Recognition Tape, (TRT). The TRT gives a clear signature to all FLIR and Thermal Imaging Equipment, the helmet appearing as very cold as opposed to the warm image normally produced. This distinction can be employed by suitably equipped combatants to identify friendly forces, particularly at night.
