One of CI Advanced Engineering's areas of specialist expertise is in the embedding of sensors in concrete structures, such as bridge decks, to monitor the progress both of the corrosion itself and of other parameters, such as strain, that may be exacerbated as a consequence of corrosion in reinforcement.

CI Advanced Engineering has access to a wide range of sensor types and can tailor new designs for applications where none of the regular types is suitable. Sensors can be linked to data loggers which take readings automatically at intervals and store the results for collection and analysis when convenient thus saving time and money on having to use an engineer to manually check and record readings at regular intervals.
